How To Change Spark Plugs On 2013 Honda Accord

  • Dielectric Grease
  • Anti-seize Thread Handling
  • x mm wrench
  • 5/viii" spark plugs socket (magnetic – makes job a lot easier!)

  • Torque wrench
  • Gear up of four Ignition Coil Boots (Optional)

Footstep-By-Step Instructions

Start with the engine cold.

Update: This tool will make it a lot easier. Instead of duct tape and the erstwhile prophylactic boot (that never seems to work) this one uses a magnet – a no-brainer – to hold the spark plug in identify!

Slide this down into the bore and become it seated onto the old spark plug. Turn counter clockwise to loosen and remove the old plug. Exist very careful not to drop annihilation down into the hole. Torque the plugs to 13 ft-lbs. (If you don't have a torque wrench, follow the instructions on the box, it will commonly tell you to tighten by hand, then another 1/two plow it so.)

Put the boots back on each plug and printing down on them firmly so that they seat nicely in the acme of the plug.

Put the ten mm bolts back in to hold the boots in identify, then re-adhere the plastic wire connectors. Just press those in, and they will click into place.

Now put the plastic encompass back on and tighten upwards the 4 x mm nuts that hold the comprehend downwardly.
